Impatient heart be still,
Thy God is on thy side;
He Who has made the promises,
Will sure bring it to pass.

Verse 2
He led thee by the hand,
And brought you hither - to;
He 'll keep you till danger is past,
Until your life shall end.

Verse 3
When thou wert yet engulfed
In troubles and despair;
Is it not thy cry He has heard,
And delivered you free.

Verse 4
Though all the way seems rough,
Yet will take you home;
Soon, troubles here will be over,
You'll forget them for e'er.
