1. Ere the Gospel got to Africa
There was great idol worshipping
Sin and sorrow ever was present
But glory be to God above
Who sent Jesus to this world of sin
As a sacrifice for our sins
That the nations living in great darkness
Might light and life eternal get.
2. We have also become partakers,
Of this ever glorious Gospel,
That gives us eternal joy to-day,
For Jesus is so kind to us
We shall proclaim this joyful tiding
All lenght and breadth of Africa
That all the Nations of Africa
Might be won for Jesus our Lord.
