REPORT OF THE UGHELLI ZONAL HEADQUARTERS CHURCH DEDICATION

Date: 16th May, 2026

OPENING CEREMONY

The dedication service commenced at 9:55am with the symbolic and celebratory cutting of the ribbon at the entrance of the church building. This honour was performed by the District Superintendent, marking the official opening of the Ughelli Zonal Headquarters to the glory of God.

CHILDREN'S PRESENTATION

Following the opening ceremony, the children of the church delivered a special presentation on the history of the church. This segment was a touching reminder of the journey of the congregation, highlighting the faithfulness of God from the church's humble beginnings to the milestone being celebrated on the day.

CHOIR AND ORCHESTRA MINISTRATION

The choir and orchestra led the congregation in a time of rich musical worship, setting a reverent and celebratory atmosphere befitting the occasion of a dedication service.

CONGREGATIONAL SONG

The congregation joined together in singing the classic hymn, "Praise My Soul, the King of Heaven," conducted by the District Superintendent. The hymn served as a corporate expression of gratitude and adoration to God for His faithfulness in bringing the church to this momentous day.

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND WELCOMING OF GUESTS

The Area Overseer addressed the congregation, making relevant announcements and formally welcoming all guests and dignitaries who had gathered to celebrate this special occasion. The warmth of the welcome reflected the spirit of fellowship and community that defines the church.

READING OF THE CHURCH HISTORY

Brother Monday formally read the detailed history of the church to the congregation. This reading provided a comprehensive account of the church's founding, growth, challenges overcome, and God's sustained provision — a testimony of His faithfulness across the years.

CHOIR RENDITION

The choir ministered again with another rendition, further preparing the hearts of the congregation for the ministry of the Word.

SCRIPTURE READING

Brother Emmanuel Mboma read from 2 Chronicles 5:11–14, which recounts the moment the priests brought the Ark of the Covenant into the temple of Solomon. The passage describes how the glory of the Lord filled the house so overwhelmingly that the priests could not continue ministering — a powerful and fitting scripture for a dedication service, affirming that God's presence is the very essence of any house built for His name.

THE WORD — REV. ISAAC ADIGUN

The preacher, Reverend Isaac Adigun, ministered from 2 Chronicles 7:1–3, which records the fire of God descending and the glory of the Lord filling the temple after Solomon's prayer of dedication, causing all the children of Israel to bow in worship. Rev. Adigun drew a rich connection to the Sunday School lesson on the Tabernacle in the Wilderness, noting that from the tabernacle in the wilderness to Solomon's magnificent temple, God's pattern has always been to dwell among His people when they consecrate themselves and their offerings to Him.

The message carried a powerful note of hope, anchored in 2 Chronicles 6 Solomon's dedicatory prayer emphasising that God's ears are open to the prayers of all who turn to Him in sincerity and faith. Rev. Adigun assured the congregation that the same God who answered by fire in the days of Solomon is still faithful to all those who will trust in Him, regardless of their circumstances. The dedication of this building, he noted, is not merely about bricks and mortar, but about a people consecrating themselves afresh as vessels through whom God will work mighty things.

DEDICATORY PRAYERS

Following the sermon, fervent dedicatory prayers were offered, committing the building, the congregation, the leadership, and all future ministry activities into the hands of God. The prayers consecrated the facility as a place set apart for worship, discipleship, evangelism, and the advancement of God's kingdom in the Ughelli zone and beyond.

ALTAR CALL

The service included an altar call, giving those present the opportunity to respond to the message and commit or recommit their lives to the Lord a reminder that the greatest dedication is not of a building, but of hearts surrendered to God.

SUNDAY SERVICE 17TH MAY 2026

SUNDAY SCHOOL

The Sunday School session was conducted by Sister Miriam Eze, who delivered an insightful and spiritually enriching lesson titled "HANNAH'S CONSECRATION." The lesson drew from the life of Hannah, exploring the depth of her devotion, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to God — drawing practical lessons for believers on the importance of consecration and surrendering one's desires wholly unto the Lord.

DEVOTIONAL SERVICE

The devotional service commenced at 10:40 AM with a soul-stirring orchestral rendition by the church orchestra, setting a reverent and worshipful atmosphere. This was followed by melodious choral ministrations from the choir, whose songs further ushered the congregation into the presence of God.

The District Superintendent (DS) thereafter led the congregation in spirited congregational singing, The opening prayer was offered by Brother Monday, who interceded on behalf of the congregation, committing the service into the hands of the Almighty.

The Area Overseer gave the announcements, keeping members informed of forthcoming activities and church developments.

A remarkable solo ministration was then rendered by Brother Thank God, who performed the soul-lifting song titled "How Big Is God" — a powerful reminder of the infinite greatness, majesty, and sovereignty of the Almighty God.

THE WORD OF EXHORTATION

The District Superintendent thereafter mounted the pulpit to deliver the Word of Exhortation, ministering a powerful and thought-provoking message titled:

"THE GLORY OF THE LORD"

Scripture References: Leviticus 9:22–23

Drawing from the account in Leviticus 9:22–23, where Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them, and where Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of meeting and came out to bless the people — and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people — the DS expounded on the manifestation of God's glory and its significance in the life of the believer and the church. The message served as a powerful call to reverence, holiness, and expectation as the congregation positions itself to behold and reflect the glory of the Lord in their individual lives and as a corporate body.

DEDICATION SERVICE REPORT

URO CHURCH

20th May, 2026

CHILDREN'S PROGRAM

The dedication service began at approximately 10:00 AM with a special presentation by the children. They put up a drama display showing how the gospel first came to Uro and how evangelism began in the community. The presentation was both educative and inspiring, giving the congregation a glimpse of the church's evangelical roots. The children concluded their presentation with the song "Keep On the Standard of the Gospel of Christ," which was warmly received by all present.

Following the children's program, the choir led the congregation in worship. The orchestra opened with the hymn "Great God of Wonders," followed by "Wake the Songs of Jubilee."

The Area Overseer then led the congregation in congregational singing, after which the Opening Prayer was offered by Rev. Emmanuel Mboma, who committed the entire service into God's hands.

CHURCH HISTORY

At 10:50 AM, Brother Jeremoth took to the podium and read the history of the Uro Church — tracing the journey of the church from its humble beginnings to the present day.

The choir followed with a local air song, after which the Scripture reading was taken from 2 Chronicles 7:11–14, setting the spiritual tone for the dedication.

The Quartet then ministered a special song titled "Surely Goodness and Mercy,"

WORD OF EXHORTATION

The District Superintendent, Rev. Isaac, delivered the Word of Exhortation. He began with 2 Chronicles 7:16, placing emphasis on the fact that God had chosen to put His name and His eyes in His house — meaning that where God's house is, His attention, presence, and glory are found there.

He explained that the church building being dedicated was not just a structure, but a dwelling place for God Almighty. Referencing 1 Kings 8:29, 33–36, he highlighted the importance of the house of God as a place of prayer, forgiveness, and divine attention — where God hears the cries of His people and responds with mercy.

He further noted that everything within the building — the pews, the musical instruments, the toilets, and the entire compound — was being set apart and dedicated wholly to God.

In his concluding remarks, the DS drew a powerful lesson from the six churches present, asking the question: "Which of these churches can truly contain God?" He used this as an object lesson to remind the congregation that beyond the physical building, God desires to dwell in the hearts of men. He called on everyone to surrender everything to God — their souls, minds, businesses, homes, plans, and all that concerns them — as a total dedication to the Almighty. He referenced Psalm 84:1–4 to close his message, reflecting on how blessed it is to dwell in the house of the Lord.

DEDICATORY PRAYER

A special Dedicatory Prayer was offered by Brother Adeyeri,

CLOSING

The service was brought to a close with the singing of Congregational Song No. 24. The Benediction was pronounced at 12:00 PM by Brother Sunday Orovwiare.
